We pride ourselves on one of the most effective and easy to use websites in the industry. But we also love to get people through the doors of our award winning conference, training and meeting venues to have a bit of a show off!
That’s why our website now has the facility to walk around the venues ‘virtually’- harnessing the same technology as Google Street View to provide complete visual access to every room. Clients can get a real feel for how their event could work by seeing room size and layouts, position of the windows, how big the screens are, where the projectors are positioned and the proximity of other key facilities like restaurants and breakout space etc.
The facility will soon be extended so that web visitors can click on a room in the floorplan and immediately be transported into that space so they can see exactly what’s available, should they want to book it.
It’s another example of how we want to keep our website fresh and relevant to bookers – after all we were one of the first to incorporate a booking tool for meetings and conferences and one of the first to embed videos of the venues.
Sian Jones, organiser of the annual Conference Awards was immediately impressed and said:-
"I love the way etc.venues always seem to come up with ways to make things easier for event organisers. Time is precious and it is not possible to do endless site visits before choosing a venue but this technology enables a complete showround quickly and easily. Not a replacement for the actual showround but a brilliant way to create a shortlist of having already seen the venue in perfect detail. Top marks to etc.venues – the St. Pauls venue looks stunning – can’t wait to see the rest."
Head of Marketing at etc.venues David Owen is delighted with the new facility and said:-
“ We’re very proud of our venues and know that showrounds normally get a very favourable reaction from bookers. So it’s great to get that showround started early with a web visit. The only thing they cant do with Google Venue Visit is taste the great food or try our lovely coffee so I still recommend a real visit once they have used the website to work out which of our 12 venues is going to suit the needs of their event best.”
The first venue to have the facility is etc.venues St. Pauls but the other 11 venues in the group will soon follow. Click here to take a tour around our St. Pauls Venue.
