etc.venues Avonmouth House teamed up with specialist training, coaching and staff development providers "Get the Edge" to run a joint event on July 8th.
Olympian Mark Hunter and Ultra Marathon Man Andy McMenemy were on hand to provide the inspiration, with the team from "Get the Edge" running workshops that covered:
- Thinking You Can: Find the key to happiness and success through the power of positive thinking
- Unity: Discover the importance of unity and how you can achieve harmony in the workplace
- Knowing Me, Knowing You: Learn to truly understand yourself and others
The day began with Andy talking about how you can change your perspective and achieve your goals by focusing on your target. He went on to discuss his marathon success, played some footage and even showed pictures of his blisters!
The attendees were then divided into 3 workshops, that covered everything from magic tricks to how to change the way you think.
Feeling energised, the group reconvened to listen to Mark describing the long journey he took to achieve his Olympic dream including how to fight back from the disappointment of coming last in a race.
The day then came to close with the group giving a soaring rendition of Robbie Williams's "Angles".
