Our Head of Business Development, Brendon Smith is joining HBAA boss Chris Peacock in a boat to be cast adrift in the English Channel to raise money for Charity.
They will be joined the MD of Trinity Conferences, Jacqui Kavannagh, and other hardy (or mad) souls from the industry who will have to stay drifting off the south coast until they have raised a large amount of money for Royal National Lifeboat Institute (the HBAA’s chosen charity for 2012).
The crew will be set adrift on May 2nd armed only with mobile phones to call business associates, friends and family to raise the money.
“I’m thrilled to be asked to take part and help raise funds for such a worthy cause,” My colleagues at etc.venues are fully behind the ‘Boss in a Boat’ idea and I will certainly be contacting them as well as our clients to help us raise funds for the HBAA’s charity.”
The HBAA’s Chairman, Chris Peacock, says: “It’s great to see Brendon and Jacqui agree to come on board the boat. We have more popular industry faces to announce over the coming days and hope that their teams get behind them as etc.venues and Trinity Conferences have.”
Brendon reckons that as a tough Kiwi whose Dad used to run a deep sea fishing fleet in New Zealand this will be a doddle - but he will be battling rough seas, scurvy, rogue whales plus a few hours with Chris Peacock so please give generously to get him back safely to dry land via The HBAA fundraising page www.virginmoneygiving.com/hbaa
We will give regular updates on Brendon’s progress via our Twitter account @etcvenues and you can also follow the event’s official hashtag #HBAAinaboat
