Energizer breakfast or brunch

There is nothing better than starting the day with a good breakfast or brunch. I was never been a big fan of porridge as a child but as I learned to cook I used my granny’s recipe and adapted it to my own taste. Back then they used water and a pinch if salt and it was a bit gloppy but mine is slightly different with chopped nuts, chia sends and almond milk giving it a creamy, nutty texture bursting with flavour.

150g Organic porridge oats
1/2 pt. Water
1/2 pt. Unsweetened Almond Milk
1pinch Salt
20g Whole almonds chopped up
Chia seeds
Drizzle of Manuka honey

Pop half of the milk, water, and salt in a non stick pan, slide in your oats and chia seeds. Cook over a low to medium heat until all liquid is gone and then gradually add the remaining liquid until all is gone, this should take 15-30 minutes. Top with chopped nuts and a drizzle of wonderful Manuka Honey.

Then for the smoothie
1 ripe banana
200g Raspberries (frozen from my allotment).
300ml Natural yogurt
2 Kiwis chopped
1tsp. Chia seeds
1tblsp. Manuka honey
100ml Cranberry juice

Whack everything into a food processor and blitz,
