Crop Report

January is slowly slip-ping away and we are now searching for the best of winter fare.

Forced Rhubarb is at its best now and the cold weather will help the cause as without it, it can’t grow! Pale Champagne colour and its amazing health benefits combine for a wonderful winter treat!

Red & Green Kale still fantastic quality! Spring Greens, Hispi and Green Cabbage remain good.

All root veg remains excellent. Many varieties of potatoes,

Reds, King Edwards, Maris Piper, Estima and Ratte. Raw Beetroot also a hit with the Detox and in high demand, try their counterparts of Candied and Golden.

Swede and Turnips from Cornwall, Onions and Red onions from Bedfordshire. Parsnips from Sussex and Carrots from Norfolk. Excellent Kohl Rabi from Suffolk. English Jerusalem Artichokes are available.

English Cauliflowers are a bit hit and miss with quality and size.

English Micro Salads remain in season but at this time of year some Micro’s do become short. At this moment Green Basil is intermittent

English Round lettuce and mustard Cress remain consistent.

English Top Fruit:

Coxes ,Bramleys and Russet. Comice and Conference Pear
