What to plant now?

Well guys, it’s the time of year that we all hate in the garden, it’s wet, mucky, and most things are dead but the jobs still need doing if you want to reap the benefits come spring/summer.

Over the last few days I had the chance to turn some manure through my soil, weed one of the beds and get some nice garlic and onions in.

I tend to get most of my garlic seed from the Isle of wight garlic farm, they have a huge selection and are very helpful with info on planting and caring for your garlic.

I’ve planted a few varieties, Czech red, elephant garlic, that’s the huge Clove, Italian and Spanish varieties.

I plant all my garlic between November to December and I’ve had great results. Just plant them 1inch below the surface and keep them weed free. I also stuck a few onions in for good measure, these should all be ready by late spring!
