15th November 2007: Last night etc.venues reigned victorious, beating a strong line up of finalists, as they were awarded the National Recycling Award for Small Business Recycling Initiatives.
The National Recycling Awards (NRA) recognise small businesses who have implemented good practice and creativity to their recycling and waste reduction schemes.

Alastair Stewart, Managing Director, etc.venues who collected the award said: “We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised by the National Recycling Awards. Corporate social responsibility has always been of massive importance to us since we began 15 years ago; we don’t just stop at recycling, we adopt energy efficient practices throughout each venue and look to build energy efficiency into any future refurbishment projects and new venues”.
Through initiatives like the Green Champions; etc.venues has been able to reduce its total waste levels by 27% in the past year.
Since June 2004, a total amount of 221.9 tonnes of waste has been diverted from landfill through etc.venues recycling programme. The group’s recycling rate for the 2006/07 reporting year was 41% compared to 32% over 2005/06.
