Art
etc.venues delivering inspiration through art

Contemporary art has always been an important part of the etc.venues experience. Our founder had a real passion and interest in contemporary art and started a collection within the venues to further her interest but also to present the delegates and visitors with interesting talking points. The collection has grown and grown and is still a key strand in our interior design strategy.
Right from the early days of building our collection we have worked closely with the Contemporary Art Society to source works from either known or emerging artists. Today this collection has grown to over 600 pieces, spans sculpture and DVDs, as well as more traditional wall mounted art. We know that our clients come to etc.venues to think, to learn and to network and we believe that our pieces of art help in this process. If you feel inspired you are free to generate those ideas, soak up all that learning and be inspiring yourself. Our art is also a key part of our CSR commitment as we are always keen to support local artists and initiatives.
We are always looking for exceptional and different pieces, which is why for instance if you visit The Hatton you will see an amazing life size horse sculpture, which is also a lamp. It’s a cross between an art installation and a functional item. Designed by specialist Swedish contemporary designers 'Moooi' it stands 240cms tall and is a true talking point as you enter or leave the venue. Delegates have told us they find it exciting and surprising and that they love talking about it. 'Enlighten Me' (as the horse is now called thanks to a competition held amongst delegates) has stimulated debate and got people thinking…exactly what our venues should do.
We will continue to profile our collection in this section of the website, so come back soon. We hope you’ll be inspired by our art etc.
