Environmental policies and awareness in our venues
In accordance with our vision to be recognised as the UK’s leading independent provider of non-residential training, conference meeting and networking space, etc.venues is committed to controlling and minimising the impact our business has on the environment. We work together with Greenworks, a recycling not-for-profit company to:
Meet the requirements of all relevant legislation and regulations and where no legislation exists, set our own minimum standards.
Meet objectives and targets and continuously review them with a view to continue to improve our global impact.
Minimise our waste generation by reusing and recycling wherever and whenever possible.
To adopt energy efficient practices throughout each venue and build energy efficiency into any future refurbishment projects and new venues.
In conjunction with etc.venues environmental purchasing policy, work with our suppliers to minimise the impact that their products have on the environment.
Ensure efficient use of essential chemicals and provide adequate training to all staff in the use and storage of chemicals.
Involve the local community, staff and clients by making them aware of etc.venues commitment to this policy via meetings, notice boards and newsletters.
Provide all staff with the environmental policy induction and training as part of etc.venues procedures.
Work with the community, staff and clients to recycle or redistribute any obsolete equipment, furniture or textiles.
Take actions to make sure we are using water efficiently.
Benchmark with other venues to make sure that we are doing the best we can.
