Welcome to The Guild of Neologists and the UK’s first Lexicon of business Neologisms brought to you by  the artist Adam Dant and the Contemporary Art Society (CAS).

As part of our ongoing commitment to the overall delegate experience at our venues, we work closely with CAS to support British artists, housing individual artworks within venues – not only to enhance our delegate’s visual experience in situ but also to create a focal and talking
point.

It is via this relationship that we discovered the genius of the artist Adam Dant who is fascinated by language and how words are translated into visual symbols. Adam previously worked on a similar word-based project
in Paris and the British Guild of Neologists was ‘born’ in late 2004.

Over 500 new words have since been submitted, mainly focusing on London and business, derived from etc.venues’ and CAS’ staff/partner contributions, as well as from clients and delegates alike.

On behalf of all those involved in this project and to each of you who have contributed to this Lexicon, I thank you.

Whilst some ‘purists’ may consider these Neologisms to be composite words already in existence, they may wish to recognise that language is about embracing change - representing evolution, which is paramount within any business environment. Ten years ago, who would have thought that the word Google would grace our dictionaries? Very few, I am sure.
